[BREAKING]: IPOB Clears Air, Declares Monday Sit-At-Home “Non-Negotiable” — Warns Against Fake Leaders, Disowns Ejiofor

The Indigenous People of Biafra has released a decisive clarification statement, reaffirming that the Monday sit-at-home order remains intact and will be fully observed, despite what it described as widespread lies, impersonation, and coordinated disinformation.

In the statement signed by Comrade Emma Powerful, IPOB accused unnamed political actors and government agents of deliberately using the names of IPOB and its Directorate of State (DOS) to mislead the public and weaken solidarity for its detained leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.

IPOB: “Ejiofor Has No Mandate”

The group categorically stated that Ifeanyi Ejiofor neither represents Mazi Nnamdi Kanu nor speaks for IPOB, insisting he was relieved of all responsibilities over two years ago.

IPOB described recent messages and publications attributed to him as unauthorized and misleading, urging the public to disregard any calls suggesting the sit-at-home be suspended.

Alleged Leadership Hijack Plot Exposed

According to the statement, pressure was recently mounted on Emma Powerful to stop issuing statements drawing attention to Kanu’s continued detention. IPOB alleged that following his refusal, plans were set in motion to falsely portray him as irrelevant or nonexistent.

The group described such actions as a calculated attempt to hijack the leadership structure of IPOB and divert attention from its core objective.

DOS Members Accused of Compromise

IPOB further alleged that some individuals appointed into the DOS had compromised the struggle by allegedly engaging in meetings with Charles Soludo, with the aim of weakening the solidarity shown by traders at Onitsha Main Market.

The statement said such conduct runs contrary to the principles of the movement and amounts to betrayal.

Fake Resignations, Online Infiltration

The group warned that fake resignation letters and statements circulating online in the name of Emma Powerful are fabrications, allegedly orchestrated by anti-Biafra elements seeking to sow confusion.

IPOB claimed hostile forces have infiltrated online platforms, falsely presenting themselves as IPOB or DOS officials to mislead the public.

Media Engagement Announced

Emma Powerful announced that he would be appearing on radio, television, and media platforms from Monday through Tuesday morning to address the situation directly and counter false narratives.

IPOB urged Biafrans and residents of the South-East to remain vigilant, ignore misinformation, and strictly comply with the Monday sit-at-home directive, assuring supporters that the wider IPOB family remains united.

“Falsehood may trend briefly, but the truth will prevail,” the statement concluded.
